Privacy policy

Summary (Burmese)

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers the TeleThukha Android app, telethukha.com, and related online services operated under the TeleThukha name.

2. Offline core — no account, no network required

The patient symptom checker, bundled health articles, first-aid guides, health metrics, and Community Health Worker (CHW) IMCI tool work fully offline after install. They do not require creating an account, signing in, or an internet connection.

On your device we may store:

This local data stays on your phone unless you use an online feature below or back up your device through your OS.

3. Online assistant and connected services (opt-in, requires consent)

If you enable the Online Assistant or other connected features, we process data only after you consent in the app:

Text is sent over HTTPS to our Worker proxy at telethukha.com, which forwards it to Anthropic (Claude) to generate conversational responses and plain-language summaries. This is not a diagnosis or prescription. Production app builds do not embed third-party API keys; the proxy holds keys server-side.

Assistant chat history is kept on your device for up to 30 days unless you delete it sooner in Profile → Online assistant. Revoking consent clears local assistant history.

4. Photo uploads (prescriptions and clinic documents)

When you choose to photograph a prescription, lab result, or clinic note for medical explain or assistant features, the image is sent to telethukha.com and processed by Anthropic (Claude) vision to produce a plain-language Burmese explanation. Images are not used for advertising. You must accept a separate in-app consent before this feature is enabled. Do not upload photos containing another person’s health information without permission.

5. Community forum

If you post on the TeleThukha forum (website or app), your display name, post content, category, and timestamps are stored on our servers (Cloudflare Workers KV) so others can read and reply. Anonymous posting uses a hashed email for rate limiting (quota) — we do not display your email publicly. Do not post information you are not comfortable sharing publicly.

6. Anonymous usage analytics

To understand how features are used and improve the app, TeleThukha collects anonymous usage data. Before any data is sent, the app shows a one-time in-app disclosure and asks you to acknowledge it.

What we collect:

On the telethukha.com website we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first, cookieless service: it records page views, referrers, and country-level location only. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not collect your IP address or any personal information.

What we do not collect in these events:

Events are queued on-device and sent in batches to telethukha.com/v1/events over HTTPS. Raw event logs are retained for up to 90 days; aggregated daily counts (totals only, no install ID) are kept longer to track long-term trends. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Account & legal → Share anonymous usage data. Opting out clears the on-device queue and stops all future sends.

6a. Crash and performance data

When configured, we use Firebase Crashlytics to collect anonymous crash logs (stack traces, device model, app version) to fix bugs. Crash reports do not include your symptom answers or chat content.

7. Notifications

If you enable medication or visit reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device. We do not need a server for these reminders.

8. Location

If you use “nearby clinics” or similar features, the app requests location only when you open that feature to sort bundled and online clinic/lab results. Location is used for that request and is not sold to advertisers.

9. How we use information

We do not sell your personal health information.

10. Security

CHW referral data is encrypted on-device with SQLCipher. Online traffic uses HTTPS (TLS). We do not ship LLM API keys in production app builds.

11. Your choices

12. Children

TeleThukha includes maternal and child health content. Parents and caregivers should supervise use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

13. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
